 Be Politically Incorrect this Christmas
Fröhliche Weihnachten! Merry Christmas! Keine Ahnung wie das
in Deutschland jetzt so läuft. Klar seiner Schwiegermutter oder Onkel Otto wünscht man wahrscheinlich immer noch Frohe Weihnachten. Aber offiziell meine ich, sagt man das noch? Oder wünschen einem Karstadt, Salamander oder Aldi inzwischen auch „Schöne Ferien“ oder „Wintergrüße“? Weil sich viele Gutmenschen, Political Correctness Bemühte und
Vertreter anderer Religionen, seien es nun Moslems, Hindus, Scientologen usw. beschwert haben und Frohe Weihnachten nur für Christen gilt. Wundern würde es mich nicht. Auch, daß der Weihnachtsmann immer noch ein Mann ist, sollte den Genderbeauftragten auf den Plan rufen. Die richtige Schreibweise ist auf Klärchens Wunschzettel jetzt ohnehin
„Lieber Weihnachtsmann/Innen“ na oder so ähnlich, in jedem Fall sollte es auch eine „Miss Santa“ geben.
Hier in Nordamerika sind wir wie immer weiter. Ob das ein Vorteil ist mag jeder selbst entscheiden. Aber Walmart oder Konkurrenz begrüßen einen nur noch mit "Happy Holidays" oder „Happy Seasons Greetings“. Natürlich nehmen das nicht alle Leute unwidersprochen hin und so protestiert denn auch zum
Beispiel ein Adam Graham:
„Merry Christmas. I said it. No, not Happy Holidays, not seasons greetings, but Merry Christmas. I’m not talking about Kwanzaa and Hanukkah is over already, I’m talking about Christmas, the holiday marking the birth of Jesus Christ.”
Und fährt empört
fort: “Yet, it happens every day. People
are admonished, “Don’t say Merry Christmas.” Don’t call it a “Christmas Tree.” (…) “It’s far past time that Christians in America take back Christmas. It is not something to be ashamed of or hidden.”
Und David

As most Christians know, Christmas has for years been so commercialized that the average person doesn't know it is

And making matters worse, many of today's businesses and shopping malls are removing the "Christ" from Christmas by greeting their customers with something other than a "Merry Christmas." (...) Und weil wir in Amerika sind können wir auch den Protest gegen soviel menschliche Dummheit, die jetzt unter der Fahne der Political Correctness marschiert, gleich
kommerzialisieren. Wir kaufen uns oben gezeigtes Bracelet, also Armband. Das kostet nur $ 2.00 und es wird günstiger wenn man gleich ein Dutzend bestellt. Natürlich gibt es auch eine „"Operation: Just Say... 'Merry Christmas'" wo man Mitglied werden
kann und einen monatlichen Newsletter und Einkaufsvergünstigungen bekommt. Und sollte es noch einer wagen uns ein „Happy Holliday“ anzubieten folgen wir dem Rat eines anderen Internetusers:
“If Christmas disappears it will be because we let it happen. It isn't too late to reverse things. Start with little things. When merchants wish you a "Happy Holiday," tell them "I'd prefer if you would wish me a Merry Christmas." |
